Melbourne Street is currently undergoing a major upgrade as part of the Queenstown Transport Programme. Directly in front of St Josephs is a major stabilisation project which is due to be completed circa November 2024 and once completed, will see the original wrought iron railings that were a prominent feature of St Josephs entrance, reinstalled.
The finished project will be a vast improvement on the current construction site.
