Re: Parish Pastoral Council St Joseph’s Parish Queenstown (including Glenorchy, Garston and Arrowtown) AGM


The Parish Priest, Father Jaime, Chairman and Councillors of the Parish Pastoral Council St Joseph’s Parish Queenstown (“the Council”) would like to advise all parishioners that the Council Annual General Meeting will be held at the St Joseph’s Church, Melbourne, Queenstown on the 26th day of March 2019 at 7.00 pm.  The purpose of the Annual General Meeting is:

(a)           To receive nominations for membership of the Council with a maximum of 9 elected members;

(b)           Having nominated members and such nominations having been accepted, for a chairperson and secretary to be appointed by those parishioners elected to the Council.  The term of office and membership is for a period of 3 years;

(c)           Thereafter to conduct the normal affairs of the Council in meeting;

(d)           Nominations can be made with the written approval of the nominee by all parishioners and whether by email to Father Jaime ([email protected]) or by attending the AGM.  Any individual can put him/herself up for nomination.  In the event that there are more nominations than are provided for under the statutes of the Parish Pastoral Council St Joseph’s Parish Queenstown, then a written vote is required to be taken and held at the Sunday Mass at 9 am on the 31st day of March 2019 being the Sunday following the closing date for nominations aforesaid).  In the event that there are more than 9 nominations, the current chairman will forthwith advise all nominees of such and confirm that a vote will be taken at the mass aforesaid.
